2008 has been a year of completions and new beginnings. In Afghanistan, any project you start has been a major victory. But completing that project is an even bigger victory. Simply due to the natural course of events in this fluid environment, many unplanned obstacles can come in your path. Though everyone wants to do good, sometimes it just takes longer than you ever could have imagined.
This year we have been able to bring to completion several projects that have faced innumerable delays.
Here are some of the victories that we’ve been able to celebrate this year:
- JFPR 9024 - Asian Development Bank social welfare program in the Kandahar area - finished!
- Sayeedabad Middle School in war-torn Wardak Province - finished!
- Nejrab Basic Health Center in Kapisa Province - finished!
- The Malalai Maternity Hospital Emergency Department - opened in October!
